alcohol treatment

This review is one that is near and dear to my heart and is about a topic that has affected countless people throughout the world. Addiction is a powerful force that takes hold and does not want to let go of it's victim. I would venture to say that at least 8 out of 10 readers of Critique My Blog has been affected by alcohol or drugs in some respect, whether it be personally, or whether it be by a family member, or even a friend. It's a horrible thing to have to deal with and because addiction is so strong those suffering with the addiction need places to help them like The Watershed. It is here that people can seek help for alcohol treatment , drug addiction. Watershed is a wonderful treatment facility that has 3 locations which are both welcoming and inviting. Their experienced staff are there for you with one goal in mind. Recovery. Watershed has even been endorsed by Senator Joseph Biden and is highly thought of as can be seen in this newspaper article about the facility. It's easy to see that with places like Watershed around, the path to alcohol treatment and recovery can be made a little more easier when people care.
This post has been sponsored by the fine folks at Watershed.

According of many researchers Alcohol and Drug addiction is simply defined as a compulsive need for an intoxicating liquid that is obtained from fermented grain or fruit. These liquids include beer, wine, and other hard liquors. it says like every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol or morphine or idealism. and Alcohol addiction may also inflame the mouth, esophagus, and stomach, and could cause cancer in these areas, especially in drinkers who also smoke. Have a desire to stop the Alcohol and Drug addiction. You must have a serious desire to stop from being an alcoholic.

I just returned from the Watershed ( for my second time ). I thought that, overall the staff was very professional, helpful and caring, and I feel that I really got a lot out of my stay there. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who had a drug or alcohol problem.
However, there was one huge impediment to my treatment. My doctor was rude, insensitive, and even verbally abusive. He never spent more than a minute or two with me, and some days I didn't see him at all ( although I was charged for a "session" every day ). I very nicely requested to change to another doctor, who was very nice and actually spent time with his patients. This doctor told me that he'd be happy to treat me, so I went to both my therapist and the medical director to ask about changing doctors. They were both supportive of my decision, and said they had no problem whatsoever with me changing. I mean, sometimes if there is a personality conflict, and the doctor in question is actually doing HARM to you, a patient should have the right to see another doctor. When I told this doctor about what both my therapist and the medical director said, he replied, and I quote " I don't give a damn what they say, I'm in charge here!" He also called me a histrionic drama queen because I got upset and left his office. This man made my stay very difficult. Every time I saw him I got upset. He never even made eye contact with me. I considered leaving several times, but I knew that I needed to be there, so I stayed and completed my treatment.
The second time I went I was extremely reluctant to go back, and the only reason was because I did NOT want this man as my doctor again. The woman I spoke with on the phone prior to my second admission assured me that I could have a different doctor this time. Well, imagine my dismay when I arrived and found out that this man had no intention of letting my have the doctor I wanted! I became very upset and went to my room to cry it out. He found out I was crying and had me put on a one-on-one!
Anyway, I want to file a formal complaint against this man, and perhaps even file a lawsuit because my rights were most definitely violated. Can anyone advise me on how I should go about filing a complaint? I'd really appreciate it. Every patient should have the right to change doctors if they want to. Thanks! Amy G.

Yeah, you are absolutely right that drug and alcohol addiction has affected countless people. I am also one of those who used to take drugs but decided to get over addiction because of my little kids. I had joined the addiction counseling Virginia center for my treatment which completely changed my life.
